On September 19, 2015, USA Dance, Inc.’s DanceSport Council issued the following Notice to all Competitors and Members of USA Dance:
“Based on constructive athlete feedback regarding the current Proficiency Point Online System and DanceSport Athlete DataBase, the USA Dance DanceSport Council has approved a motion to suspend all current proficiency point rules and athlete proficiency points until further notice. This will allow for a more comprehensive review and revision by the DanceSport Council.
The DanceSport Council has appointed a volunteer committee of DanceSport Athletes to review the current proficiency point rules and prepare a detailed proposal for creating a more equitable and sustainable proficiency point system. Timing will be to have the new proficiency point system in place following the 2016 National DanceSport Championships. However, the revised proficiency point system will only be implemented when available online to all DanceSport Athletes and after a National Championship.
All DanceSport Athletes, Professionals and Officials can greatly assist the proficiency point review process by going online to ensure that their membership information is correct in the USA Dance membership database. To update your information, please log in and verify—the spelling of your last name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth. Also, when registering for upcoming competitions, please remember to (1) always use the same spelling of your last name as it appears in the membership database and (2) use your correct membership number.
If you have any suggestions or comments for the Proficiency Point Committee, please email Stan Andrews at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support and assistance.
USA Dance DanceSport Council”
