Goldcoast Ballroom – Magnificent 45′ X 65′ Full Competition-Size Floating Oak Dance Floor

Our beautiful Competition venue is Goldcoast Ballroom in Coconut Creek, Florida. Goldcoast Ballroom is one of the premier ballrooms in the United States. It has a beautiful 45′ X 65′ solid floating oak dance floor (larger than full competition size).

Time to Practice/ Try Out the Floor

During the Two Days Before the Competition

A modest floor fee of $17.00 (including FL Sales Tax) per couple per hour applies for private practice time at Goldcoast on any day other than the day of the Competition.

On the Day of the Competition

On the day of the Competition, you may practice and warm up on the floor in the morning during the 45 minutes from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, before the Opening Ceremony of the Competition begins at 8:45 AM. The Ballroom opens at 8:00 AM for registration, registration package pick-up, and practice. The Opening Ceremony begins at 8:45 AM, and the Competition begins at 9:00 AM.

There may also be some breaks for general dancing between Divisions. And, there may be a short lunch break between the Morning Session and the Afternoon Session of the Competition. Competitors may use the floor to warm up during general dancing breaks and the lunch break.

There is no charge for your practice and warm up on the floor on the day of the Competition. This is included in your Competitor Fee.

The Day of the Competition

Please arrive at the Ballroom in time to be on deck and ready to dance at least 30 minutes before your first Heat. When you arrive, you will need to stop at the Front Desk of Goldcoast to pick up your registration package (which will include your Competition Program, Number (with pins) to pin on the gentleman’s back, and other general instructions and forms).

In order to pick up your Registration Package:

  • Each competitor must show his/ her picture ID;
  • Each competitor (other than Pros dancing only in Pro/Am Events) must also show his or her USA Dance membership card;
  • All adult Competitors (and a parent or guardian for each minor Competitor) must sign the required Release Form, and
  • Any Competitors who have a remaining Balance Due for Competitor Fees or Entry Fees must pay in full before package pickup.

Spectator Tickets for your friends and family can be purchased in advance on the Spectator Tickets page of this website, and will also be sold at the door on the day of the Competition.

A private dressing area for ladies will be set up on the side dance floor (near the restrooms). Gentlemen, please use the men’s restroom to dress.

No smoking in the Ballroom, dressing rooms, or registration area. Do not bring alcoholic beverages into the Ballroom.

Please report to the On Deck Captain at least 30 minutes before each Heat in which you will dance.

Lunch on the Day of the Competition

We anticipate that box lunches will be available for purchase in the Ballroom. Check back for further information on this. Lunch is on your own – not included in the Competitor Entry Fees or Spectator Fees.

Bottles of water will be available in the Ballroom.

If our Schedule permits, a short Lunch Break may be provided between the Morning and Afternoon Sessions of the Competition. If a Lunch Break is possible, the Ballroom floor will be available for practice and warm-up during the break.
