In those roles, Connie was instrumental in planning and determining the Events offered for each category of Competitors, and handled review and compliance with USA Dance DanceSport Rules, creation of Registration and other Forms, set up and management of O2cm technology, registration of Competitors, and heating of the Competition. She also was responsible for writing and posting of all content on our Competition website. Prior to becoming President of our Chapter in April, 2018, Connie served as Vice President. Connie and Lee, along with our 9 Member Board of Directors of the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter, and a strong and growing Competition Organizing Committee and Competition Advisory Board, form the all-volunteer Organizing Team for our Competition. This Competition is organized and presented entirely by volunteers; we all volunteer our time and work out of love and dedication to the art of dance and the sport of DanceSport.

This year, our Board of Directors has set the goal, with the encouragement of other Chapters and USA Dance National Officers, of building our Competition to become a National Qualifying Event Competition (NQE) in Florida as soon as possible!! Florida has by far the largest number of Chapters of USA Dance of any State, by almost double, and among the largest number of members and competitors of any state. Many agree it is time we have an NQE in Florida!

February 9, 2019 in Sunny South Florida is a wonderful time and place to plan your winter vacation and at the same time have fun dancing in one of the best Competitions around!

We invite other Chapters to participate with us as Co-Sponsors, send your Competitors to the Competition, and together, let’s reach our Goal of becoming an NQE!! Please e-mail us at Info@RoyalPalmDancesport.org for more information about this, and about the opportunities and incentives available to Co-Sponsoring Chapters.

Our February 9, 2019 Competition will have some other new features too! Watch for our post: New at 2019 Royal Palm Dancesport Competition on the Breaking News page of this website.

Kudos and Appreciation to Past Organizers & Royal Palm Team Members:

Our Board of Directors expresses our appreciation and recognition to John Rannella, who served as President of our Chapter from January 1, 2018 to April, 2018, and who served as Organizer of our 2018 Royal Palm Dancesport Competition. Thank you to John and to the entire Organizing Team of the 2018 Royal Palm Dancesport Competition!

Patti MacDonald, President, Director & former Competition Organizer, USA Dance, Royal Palm Chapter

Our Board of Directors expresses our appreciation to our long-time past Organizer, Patti MacDonald, who retired from that position on December 31, 2017, after successfully organizing this Competition for about 12 years, having served as President and on the Board of the Royal Palm Chapter for about 15 years.
We all owe her a debt of gratitude!

Our 9 Member Board of Directors also honors and expresses our gratitude to Patti MacDonald, our long-time past President and Director of the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter, and long-time Organizer of the Royal Palm Dancesport Competition. Patti retired from that position on December 31, 2017, after successfully organizing this Competition for approximately 12 years, having served as President and on the Board of Directors of the Royal Palm Chapter for approximately 15 years. She did a wonderful job as Organizer of this highly successful, well run, and well-attended previously all-amateur event over that extended period of time. Along with her husband, Les MacDonald, also a long-time Director of our Chapter, Patti truly deserves and receives our kudos, recognition and appreciation.

We are grateful to Patti for her continued involvement and service to our Chapter as a Member of our Advisory Board.

Our Board of Directors also honors and expresses our gratitude to Carolyne New, long-time past Treasurer and Director of the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter. For approximately 15 years, Carolyne, who is a CPA, did an exceptional job as the Treasurer of our Chapter, and kept the Chapter financially sound and strong over all those years. In addition, Carolyne has spearheaded our Chapter’s Outreach Program to FAU Students, sponsoring a program providing ballroom dance training to the Students and sponsoring their participation in our annual Royal Palm Dancesport Competition. Like Patti and Les, Carolyne and her husband Jim, also a past director of our Chapter, truly deserve and receive our kudos, recognition and appreciation.
